Lifestyle, Mind Matters

Many of us are afflicted with issues related to lifestyle. The stress in the mind manifests itself in the body, and such ailments are known as lifestyle disorders, these are basically just a ‘condition’. And, we can avoid these by bringing around a change in our outlook towards life. Developing a new perspective will enable us to see life in a new light. These issues can be effectively addressed when we adopt a new approach on life and living, therby, revamping and creating a new lifestyle for ourselves.

Few major sources of inner distress is holding on to grudges, harbouring grievances and holding on to the past. These block the free flow of energies in the body, creates toxins in the system and various kinds of imbalances in the body. The solution to this is,’ Let go ‘, easier said than done, right! Nevertheless, it can be done. With time and perseverance this idea can be successfully developed into a practice. Attending spiritual discourses, regularly practicing yoga and meditation and relevant self study will help one realise the pettiness and futility of such negativity and help release the pent up emotions. It will instead with continued practice be replaced by a sense of acceptance, forgiveness, and finally letting go. There will be no more mental agitation and emotional restlessness left. A sense of fulfilment will slowly develop as one continues on the path of spiritual progress. Positivity and enthusiasm will now be our new corner stones by which we will live in the present.

Old patterns of thinking which are no longer relevant should be replaced by prevalent ideas which are insync with the present times. Old mindsets which do not serve any purpose any more has to be discarded as these clash with the prevailing concepts and cause friction amongst family, friends and make us feel alienated at large. This causes pent -up resentment in our minds and creates mental agony and stress, thereby causing lifestyle disorders. The only solution to this problem is to be mentally flexible and change with the changing times and ethos. Do not resist change. Accept the principle, that, constant evolution is the way of life. Do not hold on to glories of the past and match your steps with the pace of time. Abiding by these priniples there will neither be any blockages within nor any confrontation without. Now we will experience harmony and peace and consequently, allow ourselves to heal.
