HAPPY NEW YEAR
Professional, monetary, social, personal, familial, and the list goes on and on…..success achieved at all levels! All boxes ticked! We are applauded and we applaud ourselves!
But then, why this nagging feeling of emptiness, this sense of longing! And longing for what? No clue, no idea! And this void only seems to get deeper and wider. Why not, yet fulfilled? Why not, yet at peace?
May be, somewhere in the midst of chasing worldly success we have lost touch with ourselves. Here we need to slow down a bit and reconnect with our core. Chasing material success and goals have certainly enriched us without but depleted us within. Inspite of all tangible name, fame and success may be, there is something deeper and more subtle yet to be discovered and realised within for everlasting fulfilment and eternal enrichment.
This calls for some introspection and reflection, upon what it is that we really want and long for? We wouldn’t be able to know this immediately. This is the beginning of a new journey. We have to learn to listen to ourselves. There may be an undiscovered facet of us which is wanting to express itself. There might be some hidden and latent talent waiting to be discovered within us. Or it might just be the Divine within in its nascent form wanting to come to full bloom. Possibilities are immense and endless. This is the journey of self discovery. As the ancients have said, Know Thyself.
Start the journey with the process of trial and error and the method of selection and elimination. Slowly we will come to know what it is that we are looking for and what it is that will give us a sense of completion and satisfaction. Here we will have to try our hands at varied things till the time we do not reach a place and point which makes us feel that, yes, this is it! This makes us feel content, enriched, fulfilled and finally at peace. All longings here cease and this new point, place and activity becomes our retreat and relief from the demands of the world outside. Here we are not only replenished and rejuvenated but also fulfilled and content. This journey might be an uphill task, and may take long as well. But we are not the ones to give up! As the view from the summit is a breathtaking one, hence we will tred on and trek on undaunted. And once here at the pinnacle we will discover our own sunshine which will give us shade, warmth and glow undiminished and unaffected by the goings on of the world outside. From now on, this realisation will become a source of constant strength and continued succour for us, at all times and events. And now, we will finally be on our way to discovering our own sunshine!
We are all individual creations of the Almighty. All of us have an individual connection with the Divine. It is an interpersonal relation between the God and the individual. Nature is the Manifestation of the Divine. In a way, Nature itself is Divinity. Caring for Nature is a form of Worship of the Almighty. Environmental Preservation is each individual’s personal obligation and primary duty. Nurturing the Environment is an Act of Devotion, an act of Service unto God. Destroying and harming Nature is a disservice and an act of sacrilege.
One has to know the difference between Individual Action and Collective Action. When it comes to Nature Preservation then each individual is responsible in his/her own individual capacity. What the larger collective is doing is their culpability we are only responsible for our own Individual Act vis-a-vis the Nature. We have to foster our own personal bond with Nature as we are answerable individually towards it. The Nature not only knows the Action but also feels the Intent of each and every individual. Each act done in the spirit of service to the Nature becomes its own reward. Each act becomes an act of personal enrichment and fulfilment, an experience inexplicable in words!
Henceforth, we should all pledge to save and cherish Nature in all its forms with all our actions be it big or small, whether individual or collective. Thereby, nurturing our own individual bond with Nature and in so doing offer obeisance to the Divine and also receive Divine Blessings. From now on through our own little initiatives we will contribute to saving Nature in all our endeavours. And if, in the course of our journey we are able to inspire some other individual/s then it will be our highest and best offering to God. And even if not, we will continue forthwith on our Pilgrimage undeterred all the way in the company and in the service of the Almighty doing our own bit!
Life is all about going beyond our limits. The moment we feel we are at the end of our resources and that we cannot go on any longer, well then, that’s the very moment we got to hang in there!
This moment is a catalyst which will introduce us to our true potential. After we cross this threshold we would enter a world of self-reliance and resilience of which until now we were absolutely unaware. All we have to do is not give in to the luxury of despair and recall to ourselves that, such moments of weaknesses are here only to help us prove our mettle and remember to make this one weak moment our strongest impetus and source of motivation. At such times we have to tell ourselves, this moment is the One Challenge which once when won will mean that, half the battle has already been won. We have to recognise this moment as a moment of realisation to rise to not only our higher and better but our Best Self. The main aim of such moments of crisis is to lead us on on a treasure hunt which will take us finally to the hitherto undiscovered treasures of Divine Gifts which we all possess and know nothing about.
The Almighty in all his kindness and generosity have bestowed upon the humankind the gift of the Intellect. This is unique only to the human race across all the creatures of the Universe. This faculty enables us to know the difference between the good and bad, the right and wrong, basically this is the discerning factor which makes all the difference between a human being and an untamed beast. The Intellect, at such times of self doubt and fear of failure will enable us to recognise the games that the mind plays from time to time upon us. With the help of the Intellect every time we feel we are getting closer to the pit of hopelssness and helplesness, we will recognise it to be what it is, just a trick of the wayward mind! And know that, we have to win over this game of the mind with the power of the Intellect.
And this very Intellect will further remind us that we possess the Divine Blessings of Courage, Will Power, Bravery and Resilience, as a boon from the Almighty. And all we have to do is rise to the occasion and to our best potential against all lowly fears of defeat, self pity and false illusions of our own weaknesses with the help of our Divine Gifts and over come all obstacles whether within or without. And neither give in to the temptation of weaknesses nor give up on our goal, come what may.
And now empowered with the Knowledge of all our Resources we will not ever be intimidated in the face of any difficulty or unforseen circumstance in the pursuance of our goal. All we have to do is simply tap into these inner reservoir of unlimited strength and unending energy every time we feel depleted or at the end of our rope.
Henceforth, we will not be browbeaten by any external or internal event, however ostensibly insurmountable and continue on our Path undeterred in the face of all odds with firm conviction and determination in the direction of Victory and Triumph beyond our perceived limits and defeating all inner and external challenges and reach greater and newer horizons.
Whenever we are placed in any circumstance of dispute, then at such times we have to remember, that, we can not fight another’s battle. All of us have to fight our own battle ourselves. Whenever we feel exhausted and helpless while fighting for someone else, well then maybe, it’s time to stop and consider the matter for a moment or two. It is time to recall the age old adge, that, we can take a horse to the well but we can not make it drink. Similarly, we can show a person the right path to the best of our ability but we can not make them walk on it. We have to remember that, this is the battle of that person and not ours. It is their Karma, not ours. Here a fine balance have to be practiced. We have to always keep in mind, that, we should not enter into the other’s Karma Cycle. We have our own Karma Cycle to complete and our own Karmic balance to settle. No one can do it for us and we can not do it for anybody else. We can only fulfil our own duty. We can only help others by honest counsel and proper guidance to the best of our capability. To chose to work upon it or not is the other person’s call. To act or not depends solely upon them. We should know where to draw the line and when to withdraw and let each one play out their own Karma and to go through their own Karma Cycle without either going beyond our own or entering upon theirs. Hence, practicing the Principle of Balance in thought, word and deed in all situations will create a fine balance of Karma and the Karma Cycle.
All of us have time and again either heard or read the words ‘let go’. And we have often wondered what do these words exactly mean and how do we apply them in our life. Holding on to past wrongs which we have received from others only create negativity and toxins in us and our system. And this only makes it more difficult for us to cope with the situation.
At such times we have to remind ourselves of a few Natural and Universal Truths which go beyond Time and Space. And this is the Principle of Divine Justice. And from this the concept of total Disconnection and Disassociation with those who hurt us and harmed us naturally follows.
This is not just a belief but a FACT. Divine Justice always and always takes place. So leave justice unto the hands of the Almighty. Do not believe but KNOW that justice will be done. The wrongdoers WILL be punished.
And when this Principle takes roots in our thinking pattern then steadily a sense of disconnection from all those who wronged us takes place. Gradually we begin to feel light and liberated as we now know that yes, Justice will take place and we need not burden ourselves any more with any load of hatred and revenge and neither wallow in a sense of injury and self pity. We are now out of the vicious cycle of the victim and perpetrator, and free to concentrate on reconstruction and self development leaving the inhibiting and limiting past well behind us.
And every time the sense of being wronged returns, as we all know, old habits die hard, well then we just have to recall to ourselves that Justice is at work and we are going to be surely vindicated. And knowing this now we can safely distance ourselves from all thoughts of negativity and focus our energies on renewal and resurgence. This is our own little ‘gentle reminder’ that we have to give ourselves every time we falter in our resolve.
Having given the reigns of Justice unto the hands of the Almighty all we have to do is rest the case and rest assured. And now we not only know how to let go but we have actually LET GO!
